Julian is a graduate of the University of Memphis, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Leadership, and Louisiana State University Shreveport, where he received his Master's in Business Administration. A dedicated leader with a sharp business acumen, he balances his professional pursuits with a deep commitment to community outreach, using his platform to spread hope and empowerment to every demographic.
A strategic communicator, Julian has navigated complex narratives for some of the Midsouth's most influential organizations, including Memphis-Shelby County Schools, the Greater Memphis Chamber, and the Peer Power Foundation. With over six years of experience in crisis communications, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagement, he brings the same precision to boardrooms that he brings to worship stages—helping leaders find their voice and use it to make an impact.
A steward of a legendary musical lineage, Julian's journey was shaped before he was even a thought. His grandmother, the legendary STAX recording artist Wendy Rene (Mary Cross), was given her stage name by Otis Redding. In a divine turn of events, she was scheduled to be on the tragic flight that claimed Redding's life but stayed behind because she was pregnant with Julian's father. This pivotal moment led her to dedicate her life to Christ under Bishop G.E. Patterson, paving the way for Julian's father to enter the ministry and for Julian to eventually accept his own calling as a gospel recording artist and worship leader.
Julian's powerful, soulful voice has graced stages alongside gospel icons such as Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar, Smokie Norful, Lisa Knowles-Smith, and the TN Mass Choir. A former American Idol contestant (Season 22), Julian reached the Top 50 during the Hollywood and Showstoppers rounds, showcasing his vocal prowess on a national platform. His music, including the hit single "I'm Free," seamlessly blends traditional gospel with contemporary electronic sounds, captivating audiences with infectious rhythms and uplifting melodies.
